Nice to be home again and it's been quite warm and sunny! Our poppies are flowering.

Leaving Paris today - temperature is 34 degrees! We had a walk around and found a cool spot to have lunch before going to get the bus at the Opera to the airport. I got home at just after 9pm.

We went and bought food to have a picnic lunch sitting in the Jardins des Tuileries next to the Louvre. Very hot again! We went to the Galeries Layfayette - an amazing shop with a fabulous roof terrace with great views. Then we walked to the Left Bank and went to a lovely little tea shop. Back to the hotel and then out again in the evening. We walked to the Pont St Michel and then went on our night cruise along the Seine - it was lovely!

Walked around Paris again during the day - even hotter today! We had another lovely meal in the evening.

Up at 4.00 am and left home at 4.45 to drive to Manchester Airport. Got to Paris and met up with Mo and Gina - lovely to see them. We went straight to the hotel (which was lovely too) and then we went out for a walk around and then to restaurant near the Eiffel Tower which I had pre-booked. It was a really nice meal. Strolled back - Paris was very hot!!!

Spoke to Allan and spoke to Susan. We went to Windermere this evening to meet up with Val and Peter - had a lovely evening with them. They are on their way up to Scotland to see Val's sister so they're doing a 'grand tour' on their way up!

Fraser is on holiday this week! I went into Dent to the knitting group. Marion brought along the 'puppet' the Dentdale WI made recently.

Drove into Kendal to go to my Embroiderers' Guild meeting. Had a good day - we were embroidering a merino felted ball!! Had to wait for the cows as I was driving in this morning!

I started making this bag to go with the dress I've bought to wear to Fi and Dave's wedding, but I made a mess of putting the zip in it and I've thrown it away! I've started another one now.

Went into Kendal and then on to knitting - just Cheryl, Margaret and me. It was Margaret's birthday last week - I made her some chocolate biscuits and Cheryl knitted her some slippers!

Met up with Justina at Farfield Mill today. Just as we were leaving I bumped into Heather and Rosie - lovely to see them both! Hope to meet up with them soon. Justina and I drove to Aysgarth Falls to take some 'waterfall' photographs. It turned out to be a nice sunny day. I took lots of photographs but didn't like having to haul my heavy tripod around!!!! Had a very nice lunch and tea and cake in the café.

A better day today but the midges are out with a vengeance!!!! Went to knitting in Dent this afternoon - nice to see everyone. Kate and Dennis went home - Kate showed me the bag she has made - it was lovely!

A miserable day today - I didn't do much. Fraser went for a run up by the church. We went to Settle in the evening for a curry with Kate and Dennis - very nice! We saw Lorna during the day and she showed us the thrush nest in her hanging basket. There are four or five eggs in there but only one has hatched.

We set off at 8.30am to drive up to Edinburgh. We got stuck in Biggar for about 40 minutes as the carnival procession had just started!!! But we got to Edinburgh in plenty of time and had a really lovely lunch in a noodle bar (called The Ting Thai Caravan) and then we had coffee and cake just around the corner from the theatre. 'Car Man' was brilliant - we both really enjoyed. Left straight afterwards - it was really cold and everyone was dressed for winter! We got home at about nine o'clock.

Had a really nice day in Kendal with Kate. We shopped and had a very nice lunch in Baba Ganoush. We also spent some time in the quilting shop, Reticule - a lovely day in all.

Spent all day in the garden today. I've got it all planted up now and tidied up too. Cut the grass as well so it's looking nice and tidy. I spoke to Allan - he's OK.

Fraser decided to take another day off work today and he went walking with Dennis and his friend, Alan. They drove over to the Lakes and climbed up Scafell - he said they had a lovely day.

We walked along the Granite Way today - we walked for about eight miles. I wore my sandals and ended up with blisters - a nice walk though! e went to the pub in the village this evening for dinner - very nice!

We went for a walk today. We drove to a little place called Sheepwash but we couldn't find anywhere to park! We had to drive further on and start the walk at a different place. It was a nice walk but two of the fields we were supposed to walk through were planted up with crops so it made it quite difficult to walk through them.

We drove to Chard and Axminster today to have a look around - we weren't too impressed! We ended driving back via Seaton and Sidmouth and we had fish and chips in Seaton. We walked along the beach but it was quite cold.

We walked down the gorge today. We had a little bit of rain but sunshine for most of the day - a bit cool though. We had a lovely walk through the gorge - the waterfalls were great!

We arrived at the campsite late afternoon after a long drive down. The campsite is lovely! We stopped at Waitrose and loaded up with food.
